Here is the splash page for the new comics story that starts tomorrow at SeanWardSuperParty.com. The ‘Splash Page’ is an old phrase from the nineteen fifties. It was the name for the first page in a comic book. It was always a single-panel page that gave you an overview of the upcoming story, usually depicting a scene that doesn’t actually happen in the story while giving you the flavor of what’s about to happen. The splash page always has the title of the story on it, as well as the credits so you knew who made the thing. The splash page usually also had the indicia at the bottom, which is that block of teeny-weeny text at containing the copyright information. Now that I’m thinking about it, if I really wanted to go all the way retro, I would have included indicia on my splash page here. Hrrmmm.

Launch weekend is over, and it’s now Monday of the first full week. I just wanted to come on here and thank everyone for coming to visit the site, and extra special thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent me an e-mail.

Tomorrow the second strip goes up and you will start to discover what the deal is with Benny Banana.

In the meantime, please shoot me an e-mail and let me know the user experience of this site it. Is it easy to get around? Can you navigate the comics?

Before you wonder if you’re in the right place: no, you did not eat something you shouldn’t have. No, you are not dreaming. You have made it to the new Super Party site! Now the finest in bright, fun, colorful comics is presented in a format befitting such awesomeness.

This was inspired by two of my favorite things: pop art and psychedelia. If you want to see where the ideas came from, Google Peter Max and Pushpin Studios. Of course that’s not the whole formula, I don’t want to give everything away!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know about some site issues that I am aware of.

If you are having issues that I have not listed here, please let me know about it so I can address it!!

• The Disqus comments system does not line up with the rest of the content.  It lines up with the edge of the container, overlapping the border.  I don’t yet know what code to tweak, whether I would do it in my theme editor or Disqus plugin editor.  Are you a Disqus user to knows something about where to go with this?
• The Social Networking plugin is not working.  Have you got a suggestion on a better one?  I want an easy way to thumb-up on StumbleUpon, share on Facebook, etc.
• Someone told me that the site is not lining up right in Safari.  I use Safari and it looks fine.  How’s it look for you?

Those are about it right now.  This is an on-going thing so it’ll be in a constant state of flux.
